Our Story

Growing up in the heart of agricultural Delmarva, David Hudson (our founder) was raised on a working farm in Bishopville, Md with his mother, father, and four siblings. Taking after his dad, David began farming at an early age, raising chickens, hogs and farming the land, all while trying his hand at crops like sunflowers, peppers and sweet corn. In 1985, still in the midst of agricultural production, he erected his first greenhouse. As he continued farming he began growing his greenhouses, eventually converting his farm completely to horticulture in 2001.Little known fact: Most people ask why we chose the name Cedar Swamp Farm - we didn't. It already existed on the deed of the land - we just chose not to change it. We love it!
